A Short Biography
Born and raised in Laredo, Texas. Educated at the University of Texas at Austin and the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University. I worked my way up from the Federal Public Defender's Office in Laredo to the Federal Bench. In fact, I was the first Hispanic woman appointed to serve as United States Magistrate Judge, for the Southern District Court of Texas, Laredo Division. I proudly served an eight year term, from 2000 to 2008. During my tenure I presided over one of the largest largest criminal dockets in the United States, allowing me to accumulate many lifetimes of legal experience over a short period. For the past 10 years I have worked in private practice with specialization in civil litigation, specifically; Oil and Gas, Wills and Trusts, Transactional Real Estate, Business Corporations, Tax and Employment Law. I have worked on some high profile cases and look forward to talking with you, whatever your legal circumstances.
